La Bayette, at La Doree

La Bayette, at La Doree is right on the borders of Brittany, Normandy and the Pays de Loire. It is a 20 minute drive to the town of Fougeres with its medieval chateau ( the largest in Europe ) and its wide range of shops and supermarkets.

In the Forest of Fougeres is a lovely lake with its own beach and play facilities for children. Our nearest large village, with a small supermarket and a number of other shops and restaurants, is Fougerolles du Plessis, and this is a five minutes drive away.

The Gite is a traditional stone cottage with a south facing courtyard and private garden. It is situated just off a quiet lane and nestling in rural countryside amidst four villages that are between 2 to 4 kilometres distance. It is an ideal base for visiting the numerous medieval towns, such as Domfront, Fougeres and Lassay les Chateaux. The beaches of Brittany and Normandy are an easy drive, encompassing, Mt.St.Michel, St.Malo, Avaranches,Granville and Dinan. The nearby town of St.Hilaire du Harcouet has a large open-air market, supermarket and many interesting shops. For walkers the 'route pedestre' offers the chance to see the countryside at close hand. Or, just relax and enjoy the peace and tranquillity.
